Formed in response to the brutality of Bloody Sunday, in Grenada the Committee of 22 was an umbrella group of civic organizations – including the Chamber of Commerce and the Teachers Union – that spearheaded strikes and demonstrations and called for a commission of inquiry and disbanding of Eric Gairy's ‘police aides' and Mongoose Gang between November 1973 and January 1974.
