Christopher Stroude

Chris Stroude was a Major in Grenada’s People’s Revolutionary Army (PRA) who served as the political commissar of the armed forces.

A loyal supporter of Bernard Coard, Stroude was the senior officer on duty at Fort Rupert on October 19, 1983 when Maurice Bishop and his supporters were killed.

As one of the Grenada 17, Stroude was imprisoned in 1986 for his role in the events of that Bloody Wednesday.  He was released in June 2007.
