Lloyd Noel was an attorney who was a close associate of Maurice Bishop and a founding member of the New Jewel Movement (NJM).

Noel served as general counsel for the six (6) NJM members who were brutally attacked on Bloody Sunday, November 18, 1973.

Although he resigned from the NJM in 1977 , he remained as a member of the People’s Revolutionary Government (PRG) and served as Attorney General and Director of Public Prosecution until he eventually resigned from the PRG in July 1980 citing differences with Maurice Bishop.

Lloyd Noel was imprisoned by the NJM in July 1981 for his association with “The Grenadian Voice” publication.

Lloyd Noel died in July, 2017.
