Radio Antilles

A Montserrrat-based radio station that sent broadcasts from 1963 to 1995 throughout the Caribbean

Founded in 1963 on the island of Montserrat,  during its operation Radio Antilles covered the entire Caribbean region.

During the last days of the Grenada Revolution, Unison Whiteman and Alimenta Bishop telephoned Radio Antilles, which could be heard within Grenada, to conduct interviews about prime minister Maurice Bishop’s house arrest and other issues within the NJM party.

The station was buried completely by lava deposits after the start of the Soufriere Hills volcano eruption in 1995.
