Joint Endeavor for Welfare Education and Liberation [J.E.W.E.L.]

A Grenada-based organization formed by Unison Whiteman, Teddy Victor and Sebastian Thomas in 1972 that was the forerunner to the NJM.

The Joint Endeavor for Welfare, Education and Liberation known as JEWEL was a Grenada-based organization formed in March 1972.

The organization, based in the rural parish of St. David, was led by Teddy Victor, Unison Whiteman, Sebastian Thomas, Sherwyn Lazarus and Witaker Jeremiah.

J.E.W.E.L. later merged with another Grenada-based group, MAP, to form the New Jewel Movement (NJM).
